When I first heard about AMO spa I was a little sceptical. I found out it would cost me 235,000 Rupiah (approx $23) to use the sauna and pools for a single session, and I wasn’t really sure what the hype was about. However after months of putting it off I finally decided to give it a go, and I was very pleasantly surprised.
Set on a rice field in Canggu the spa has an amazing cafe and co working space, with healthy delicious meals and a very impressive range of health shots.
If you are in the mood for a massage, facial or spa treatment then they also have spa facilities on site, I haven’t personally tried them but I have only heard good things.
However the part of the spa that is causing AMO to become the health hot spot of Canggu is the spa facilities out back, which includes 2 ice plunge pools, a large impressive sauna area, steam room, jacuzzi, and an Epson and Himalayan salt hot pool. At any time of day you can find an eclectic group of people enjoying the jacuzzi, sweating it out in the sauna, or squealing over entering the ice plunge pools for the first time (yes that was me)
Sitting in a jacuzzi whilst staring over a rice field really adds to the experience, providing a beautiful view while you soak in the baths. There are also a number of big air mattresses on the stairs to lie on and tan in the sun.
The 1 hour recommended cycle of the facilities leaves you feeling much more refreshed and healthy then I could ever have anticipated, and each time I have been I have met incredible like minded people.
Although it is a little pricey at 235K rupiah per session, those of you who are here for longer or think you’ll use the facilities more the 4 times during your stay, can get a monthly membership so you can come as many times as you like!
AMO is located in the heart of Canggu,
hope to see you there!!
